Yellow Bear needed some pants
Yellow Bear is my daughter’s favorite buddy. Along with his bandaid, arm cuff and head band, she insisted he needed some new pants. I promised her I’d make him some while she was at Day Care yesterday. With 30 minutes until I had to pick her up, I came up with these.
I think he looks pretty smashing, don’t you?

Owls & Bacon? hmmm, must mean love.
If you know me, then you know I love bacon.
Last year, I combined my love of bacon with my love of recycling packaging into cards and postcards. Out of this came the Bacon Love Card, as featured on Bacontoday.com.
I can also be corny and a bit cheesy. From that came the Owl Love You Forever card, which luckily, instead of being corny or cheesy, is just cute (imo). The card is now available as a magnet and framed too!

To prepare for Valentine’s Day, I’ve added some of each of these items to my shop.
Just want to help spread the lovely bacony goodness..and ensure that your partner knows you’ll love them forever.

So, you can only imagine the heaven I was in! I’ll let these pictures speak for themselves. yum.

WildCard – super cool new shop in Lawrenceville

Sah – weet. That is all I have to say about the new shop opening SOON in Lawrenceville. Rebecca Morris, WildCard’s proprietor extraordinaire, has put together a fantastic collection of local handmade wares; with a sprinkling of awesome commercially produced items. A big feature of her shop is paper products. Huge rolls of specialty papers are available, as well as about a million greeting cards.

When I dropped my goods off there a couple of weeks ago, the shop was clean, shiny and had freshly painted walls, but not one bit of inventory displayed – yet. So, when I stopped by on Saturday morning to drop off few more things, my ulterior motive was also to be nebby and see what was going on! Boy, was I in for a treat. The shop was literally “humming” with activity – Rebecca, and assorted family members were stocking, hanging and arranging inventory. I was blown away. The shop looked great – and it was also super cool for me to be able to look around the shop and see so many of my friends & acquaintances handiwork.

The Grand Opening is set for November 7, but don’t let that stop you from stopping by and saying hi! I’ll keep you posted with hours and any other info.
WildCard is located at 4209 Butler Street in Lawrenceville.
Directly across from the public parking lot (very handy for those with rusty parallel parking skills).

Bookstock: A Fundraiser for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

As someone who proudly displays MLIS after their name, I would be remiss not to post about the upcoming benefit for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. A group of proactive & awesome librarians have decided to do something to help the place and the jobs they love! They’re hosting a dance party & art/craft auction benefit this Thursday, September 24 at Remedy, 5121 Butler St. Lawrenceville. 8pm. Live entertainment by DJ Mary Mack, projection artist Blissy & rocker Dean Cercone. Suggested donation: $5-$10.
Hey Crafty Folk, for information on donating an item for auction, please send an email to taragoe@gmail.com.
