Appliqued & Embroidered Military Mapcase Messenger Bags
Remember the Israeli Paratrooper Bag that Banana Republic used to sell? You know, when it was a neato kind of Safari shop, not the fashionista store it is today. Well I had one and loved it to death. (I actually just found it the other day in my garage! I thought it was gone forever.)
When I wanted to start a new appliqued bag line, I had that style in mind. I searched around and fell in love with these Military Mapcase Messenger Bags. They come in black or olive drab – and were just asking to be embellished. Each embellishment in hand cut and sewn. The inside flap lining is machine sewn with coordinating fabric. These measurements (12 X 12 X 1.5) are perfect for a purse, book bag or day bag. The slots on the front can be used for pens, lip gloss, knitting needles, paint brushes or whatever you can dream up.

And, as I heard from my niece Gracie, they also work great for the new mini laptops (yes, yes, I know NOTEBOOKS). She was a lucky recipient of a red high heeled shoe bag for her Birthday. She reported back to me that her mini laptop fits perfectly. When I questioned her about padding – she said – “no sweat” I have a protective sleeve for the laptop itself, and then the power cord fits right in the bag with it”. Great tip!

Need a unique bridal party gift? Let me make each of your attendants there own personal bag; designed by you especially for them. (with a little help from me!)

I especially LOVE the one with the tiny colorful cool orbs floating around. They remind me of micro-organisms or space ships. So much fun!
